Originally filmed by Marvin Pipkin on his family’s Hidden Springs Ranch in the Texas Hill Country on Friday, January 10, 2014. This is a video of Marvin’s original video (so my apologies for the quality). Marvin and his hunter, Elvin Smith, had been watching a group of deer when these two bucks walked by each other and started posturing.
After locking antlers, these two big mature whitetail bucks battled continuously for over five minutes trying to literally kill each other. At one point, Marvin has to stop the camera and get out of his vehicle in order to continue filming the buck fight. If you only want to see the most dramatic sequence, start watching around the 2:55 minute mark. Many of us have seen bucks fight, but not many of us have witnessed a buck fight that lasted that long and was that dramatic.
