Although the brood counts were high in the spring for the state of South Dakota, the overall number of pheasants that survived the extremely dry summer were noticeably down. A lot of pheasants shot this year were older roosters. This video shows a large conglomeration of both hens and roosters on a farm near Kennebec, South Dakota.
