A film like no other, ‘Mera Safar’ (My Journey) takes us on a trip into Pakistan with adventurer Mike Axelrad. From the Himalaya mountains to the deserts of the Sindh, we watch Mike track three different types of species in these spectacular conditions, we’re given a window into a rich and distinct culture and land, where hunting is seen as more than a hobby or sport but, instead, a transcendent experience.
It is much more than just the story of the hunt. The people, culture and the land itself create a spectacular backdrop to a hunter’s seemingly selfish pursuit of four species of animal. However, this pursuit in fact gives the animals’ very lives value and transcend them from being pests to a valuable asset that brings money to a poor country. The end goal in this riveting documentary is to show the world the side of Pakistan they’ve never seen before.

This film harnesses the essence of what our public lands mean to us. Having the ability to be free and have a space to practice that freedom we feel is a fundamental right of all people. Without the access for everyone to enjoy our public lands, our right of freedom would be indirectly cutoff.
