Seven years ago Lynn Walter was working in her barn when she fell over 15 feet, breaking her pelvis, leg, and ankle. While she was in rehab she started to watch hunting shows and although she could not even walk at the time, she decided that she was going bow hunting that fall with her son Lane. One month before their first hunt, Lynn was diagnosed with a blood cancer. She started oral chemo therapy on August 28th but on September 1st she was hunting elk.

Every year since her diagnosis Lynn and her son Lane go archery elk hunting in Colorado. Although she has been close many times she has never been able to harvest an animal with her bow.

This last year Lynn drew a Mountain Goat tag in Colorado and her focus changed from the dark timber of the elk woods to higher elevations above the tree line. The multiple rounds of chemo therapy and stem cell transplants left her with neuropathy in her feet, making every step in the uneven rocks of the mountain goat terrain even more difficult but she would not let small things like this phase her enthusiasm to be outside hunting.

This hunt is about much more than chasing animals above tree line. It is about taking some of the worst things that life can throw at you and fighting past them.
