Follow John Royer of Leatherwood Outdoors as he hunts Clarion county for whitetail deer during the second week of the Pennsylvania Rifle season. He is using a Model 98 30-40 Krag Jørgenson that has been sporterized. The gun was built in 1899. John takes a walk and spots a the big 10 point buck. He misses his first shot but drops the buck on the second shot at 100 yards with open sights. Amazing! John celebrates and gives God all the praise for his big buck and highest scoring he’s ever harvested. John then weighs his deer at Alan Reichard’s Taxidermy studio near Mayport Pa.
