How To Hunt: Waterfowl Hunter Explains Decoy Positioning | Waterfowl
About Video
Uploaded on 9 June, 2011
The decoy is a useful tool in waterfowl hunting and there is a lot more to it than just placing some decoy birds in a field and hoping the incoming flocks land near them. Most hunters will place their decoy in their flocks far to close to each other. These hunters have studied the patterns of natural flocks and give some great tips on how to hunt by optimizing your decoy flock. The positioning of the decoys can determine how real it looks to the waterfowl and in return raising the chance of having them land in the area. The hunters use a arrow pattern to mimic a real goose flock on the ground and make sure they are spread out accordingly, making sure not to space them to close to each other.
