Green Winged Teal Duck Facts | Waterfowl
About Video
Uploaded on 7 June, 2011
A smaller duck, the Green-Winged Teal duck can sometimes be hard to spot when on the ground. They are a lighter brown color and have stripes of brilliant green patterns on the wings. This helps them blend into the terrain they are using as a nesting area. They are very good at nest building and will guard their nest like a viscous mother protecting her chicks should. The females can fight off larger males when they are protecting their nests and have even been known to fight off foxes.
