I also have the handycam cx110 but mine looks different. did you put a different lens attachment on or something?

I bought a screw on lens hood from amazon. I bought a kata rain cape from bhphotovideo that I use to film when it rains. The rain cape works great but when I put it on the camera it kept sliding off. The lens hood holds it in place.
