Woman petting moose creates popular attention in Alaska. Her name is Chantelle Hernandez and claims she has always wanted to pet a moose since moving here. Last week on Sunday the 25th, she got her wish. This moment was caught on video and went viral the following day. Jason Blake and his 2-year-old son had an apartment window only a few feet away. It just so happens that Blake works for the Daily News website. Since then, the story and footage spiralled. She received condemnation by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Plus being called crazy and a variety of other opionions.

Although she meant no harm, “She was creating a dangerous situation and was lucky!” Gino Del Frate of the Department of Fish and game stated. Anchorage, Alask is full of wild moose and they are dangerous.”It could have easily been that moose in a less tolerant mood.”He also stated how hard a moose can kick and it can be deadly. Overall, the actions were described as “irresponsible and dangerous.” And touching a moose is considered wildlife harassment, a crime under state law.
